Asked my dad the same question last week. He thought that you’d basically have to practice on some private land and then go and join a rally driving “club”. Do some races and if you’re good enough you’ll work your way up.
Join your local club. My daughter is a co-driver as well as being an ambulance tech at the major rallies across the area. Find a club near you and join, go to college and do a motor sport qualification. You will need lots and lots of money to set yourself up as a driver, some of the cars are an incredible price I’ve seen some advertised recently for £345,000! I think you have to put a lot of effort into getting what you want but if you join a club and do some stewarding and help out generaly you may get a break.
Good luck
If you’re really interested contact Myerscough College, they’ve got a website, and check out their Motor Sport courses.
