Check out a good racing school. You won’t get any sponsors until you’ve proven you know what you’re doing.

Hi just to introduce myself I’m Carter I’m 15 and I’ve been racing karts for 6 years. I’ve won 4 championships and finished 16 out of 250 at nationals. Ok first off karting or any type of racing isn’t something that you will just jump into and be successful immediately. It takes a lot of effort, talent, practice, and of course money to win, you have to be able to beat people who dedicate their lives to this. At about %99.99999999 of the races there aren’t any scouts from F1 or any higher racing. You probably won’t make it into F1 unless your super talented and if you do it won’t be until your later 20’s but you never know. Also, if you plan to make into F1 the first thing scouts look at is marketability, F1 is really just a big advertisement when you think about it. But don’t worry about that now you still have a long ways to go before you worry about that.
Ok first go look at all the tracks within a drivable distance. Talk to people to see what classes are great to start in, karters are ussually extremely friendly. Choose a class with a lot of people but DO NOT jump into a shifter kart your first year. Shifters are extremely hard to drive, have a lot of maintenence, and teach bad driving habits if you learn initialy how to drive on one. Look into a class like hpv or Rotax, they’re fast and are great for learners. If your looking to spend some $$$ on a new kart for that I’d definately go with a birel or tonykart but first see what your local kart shop will support and carry parts for. If you live in the west go to msquared (msquaredkarting.com) in Utah. they’re probably one of the best shops in north america. Go to their website for an article on how to buy a new or used kart. Hope this helps.
