He is 6 years old and has had a few goes at various events, he is great at it and would like to do more. We live in Yorkshire, about 20 miles from York and Leeds.

Contact your nearest Kart Club, you will find them very helpful and will be glad to assist/advise

HI there, I live a long way from you (in Prague) but a quick net search returned the South Yorkshire Karting Club at
I have no idea if that is useful to you or not but I am sure if you contact them they would advise you of a closer club if not.
Good luck to you all and if thewee man turns out to be the next Lewis Hamilton then remember Shuggiemac when the first million pound pay check hits the mat

go to or Please only go to a properly licenced club or track – but some wont take your son because of his age for insurance etc.

its best to ask him first if he’s interested. its pretty pointless getting someone involved in something if they dont wanna do it. if he says yes, contact a local karting company and ask them if he’d be able to come down one day. if he doesnt want to do karting, you could always ask him what other sport he may like to do as a hobby, examples include football, snooker, swimming, rugby, golf, etc

Click the 1st link below for a list of the go karting tracks in Yorkshire
The 2nd link is for kids. BUT I think at 6 he may be a bit young to join a club
