Also, you can hardly say they crushed Schumacher. When Schumacher made his one-off appearance in the karting championship in ’01, it wasn’t as if he’d been racing karts recently. He also didn’t do too bad, finishing 2nd in the final race, behind Cesetti, after Ardi DQ’ed himself. Schumacher also set a new lap record in one of the free practice sessions. All in all, you can’t say he was crushed.

True, but Liuzzi did win the World Karting Championship. As did Trulli and Riccardo Patrese. Trulli has had a decent career, but being great in karts obviously doesn’t guarantee success in cars, particularly F1.

How can you be somewhat dirty everyone bumps cuts their opponent off for issues to win unless they have an advantage with the engine. If you are ompetitive and want to win you put the wheel or bumper to them.

we wish to announce that we have slapped a lifetime ban on Timo Glock for failing to keep his car running at maximum speed during the last lap of the deciding Brazilian GP.
As per regulations applied to non-Italian championship winning teams, Lewis Hamilton will have to race through all of 2009 on 3 wheels if he wishes to defend his title.

Just to clear one thing up, I’m not saying that Lewis is a bad driver. I know for a fact that he is very good as I knew his family when they were still in karts.
I was pleased for him when he got the McLaren sponsorship as I knew he could go all the way. It’s just that, if only every driver as good as him got the same oppurtunity, we could’ve had 7 or 8 drivers fighting for the WDC!

Despite what everyone else is saying here. You do have a point.
Some of the best drivers in the world are probably karters. It’s just that they never received the financial benefit other drivers rceived and because of it, never moved beyond karting.
Ardigo, Fore and Cesetti are 3 prime examples of this. As are drivers like Mike Wilson (6 time world karting champion) and Terry Fullerton. Both of whom Ayrton Senna said, in 1993, were the toughest competitors he ever raced against.
