How to build a non-engine go-kart with pedals or some other means of propulsion?

I want to build a go kart without an engine, that will go forward without someone pushing it. Like someone is sitting in it and either pedals or turns a crank with their hands. If you know anything about the high gear ratios needed for that, I’d appreciate advice on that.

The easiest way would be to weld 2 bicycle frames together, with a seat inbetween. Make it a 3-wheeler, less parts if 2 wheels don’t have to turn together for the steering. Cut out the gooseneck, and weld it onto the front crossbeam. You’ll need a rear axleconnecting the two rear wheels, with a recumbant setup for pedals. Use the existing gearing from a ten-speed bike, same front sproket for the pedals.
